Program Overview

The AHA Instructor Training Program prepares healthcare professionals and community educators to teach CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and emergency response courses using official AHA curriculum and standards.

Program Components

  • Prerequisite Certification
  • Current AHA Provider certification
  • Instructor recommendation required

Instructor Essentials Course (Online)

  • AHA teaching philosophy
  • Adult learning strategies

Instructor Skills & Teaching Practice

  • Practice teaching CPR & AED skills
  • Demonstrate class facilitation

Initial Clas Monitoring & Alignment

  • First course monitored by Training Center
  • Confirms readiness

Curses You May Teach

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver Pediatrid First Aid CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver for K-12 Schools
  • Heartsaver First Aid Only

Program Outcome

  • Authorized to teach AHA courses
  • Renew Instructor status every 2 years
  • Follow all AHA policies
