Private Duty Nursing

Private duty nursing refers to individualized nursing care provided to patients in their homes or specific settings, typically by a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. This type of care is designed for patients who require more intensive or specialized support due to medical conditions, recovery from surgery, or chronic illnesses. It allows for personalized attention and can include assistance with daily living activities, medication management, wound care, and monitoring vital signs. Private duty nursing helps ensure that patients receive the necessary care in a comfortable and familiar environment, enhancing their overall well-being.

Many of our private duty cases are for patients who are tracheostomy and ventilator dependent. However, we also cater to other complex medical needs such as end-of-life care with advanced requirements or Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN).

Private Duty Nursing Shifts vary from 4 to 12 hours when care need exceeded the abilities of caregiving.
